Embracing the Future

Freestone Medical Center serves Freestone County and surrounding communities offering a wide array of medical services including a 24-hour emergency department designated as a level IV trauma center, lab, imaging, inpatient care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

Open since 1947, today's 37-bed acute care facility honors the past and embraces the future. The Fairfield Hospital District Board announced the successful transition of the hospital to the District as Freestone Medical Center on January 1, 2017. Community Hospital Corporation of Plano, Texas, provides management services to the hospital.

Along with the latest medical technology, your overall well-being is vital to us. Our values include dedication, excellence, compassion, and respect, the qualities our team of highly-skilled physicians, nurses, and professional staff members exemplify every day.

For wellness and prevention services as well as acute and chronic illness management and sick visits, Freestone Health Clinic is also here for you. An in-network provider for Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans, our rural health clinic is committed to your family’s health. Your primary care provider will listen to your concerns and coordinate care with specialists as needed.

Among its many honors, Freestone Medical Center's cardiac rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
