Carolinas HealthCare plans long-term care hospital at CMC-University

Carolinas HealthCare System wants to collaborate with a Texas company to add a $3.2 million long-term acute-care hospital in Charlotte.

Plans call for nearly 13,000 square feet on the fourth floor of CMC-University to be renovated. That space will become a 35-bed, long-term acute-care hospital, called Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital at University.

The project will be a joint venture between Carolinas HealthCare and Carolinas Community Care LLC, a subsidiary of Community Hospital Corp. of Plano, Texas.
