Strategic Planning

 

CHC Consulting facilitates a planning retreat with key stakeholders to create a clear vision for the desired future of the hospital and develop an action plan for the attainment of that vision. During the retreat, strategic initiatives are defined in order to develop this action plan, as follows:

  • Drafting a statement of the hospital's vision for the future
  • Considering internal/external environmental data to encourage strategic thinking 
  • Identify operational, physician, employee, financial, technological and growth strategies for the next three to five years to support the attainment of the vision
  • Identify post-retreat steps

Creating an action plan after the retreat includes the following:

  • Assign an interdisciplinary task force with relevant expertise for each strategic initiative
  • Put a process in place to identify key tactics, measurements and accountable parties for each strategic initiative
  • Document specific action plans with timelines and accountability to realize implementation
  • Support presentation of the strategic initiatives to the hospital board and other key stakeholders
