Tony Ybarra

SVP, CHC Supply Trust

Tony Ybarra serves as Senior Vice President, CHC Supply Trust. In this role he manages initiatives to develop and implement comprehensive supply chain management strategies on a company-wide basis and ensures that quality-based initiatives are implemented in order to gain the greatest value from CHC’s supply expenditures and resource utilization.

 

He provides services to owned, managed and consulting clients in the area of supply chain. He also establishes and implements strategies aimed at improving CHC’s procurement activities on a consolidated basis by selecting and negotiating agreements for supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment and services. Tony has over 30 years of materials management experience in the healthcare industry.

 

Prior to joining CHC in 2007, Tony managed a corporate materials management department that serviced surgical hospitals and surgery centers nationwide. He also has extensive materials management and operational leadership experience working within the multi-hospital health systems, large physician groups and individual physician practices. Tony brings to the team an expertise in procurement, negotiation and material controls.

  

Tony is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles. Tony is an active member of the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) and The Council of Supply Chain Executives and is a Certified Materials & Resource Professional.

VP, Supply Chain

Jose Pluguez

VP, Supply Chain

As Vice President of Supply Chain for CHC, Jose Pluguez is responsible for implementing and administrating a quality-based, comprehensive supply chain management strategy for CHC’s supply expenditures and resource utilization. He brings more than 20 years of experience in directing supply chain and support services to CHC.

 

Before joining CHC, Jose was the Executive Director of Supply Chain Management at Adventist Health in Bakersfield, California. Prior to this, he spent 20 years as the Chief of Medical Logistics in Support Services Management for the U.S. Air Forces. Throughout his years of service with the U.S. Air Force, Jose received numerous awards including the 5th Air Force Airman of the Year Award in 1997, five awards for Air Force Material Account of the Year (1997, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2007), and was named 5th Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year twice (2002, 2010). In addition to these accomplishments, Jose was chosen to partner with the DEA on the first-ever Air Force Prescription Drug Take-Back Program, and was hand-selected to provide medical logistics support for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

 

Jose holds an Associate Degree in Logistics Management from the Community College of the Air Force and a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Andrew’s University. He is also a Certified Material Resource Professional (CMRP) through the American Hospital Association, a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) through the Institute for Supply Management, and a Certified Master Negotiator through the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

VP of Business Development, CHC Supply Trust

Philip Trent

VP of Business Development, CHC Supply Trust

Philip Trent serves as Vice President of Business Development for CHC Supply Trust, the supply chain services arm of Community Hospital Corporation and CHC Consulting. In this role, Philip is responsible for business development and client relationship management. 

 

With more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Philip has worked with some of the nation’s leading healthcare providers and support organizations. Prior to joining CHC Supply Trust, he served as Director of Market Development for VITAS Healthcare, San Antonio, Texas – the nation’s largest provider of end-of-life care. Previously, he led innovative growth strategies and improved market share for various healthcare companies. Philip has also developed sales teams and reversed negative sales trends in his roles with Abbott Laboratories, TAP Pharmaceutical Products, Inc. (a division of Abbott), SAVA Senior Care, Inc., and inVentiv Health.

 

Philip earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and has completed advanced courses in strategic management and leadership.

 

Corporate Director Supply Chain

Nick Burgess

Corporate Director Supply Chain

Nick Burgess serves as Corporate Director of Supply Chain at CHC. In this role, he works closely with the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain to develop and implement comprehensive supply chain management strategies that offer the greatest value from CHC’s supply expenditures and resource utilization. His materials management background extends to the acute care and long-term acute care environments, as well as U.S. Department of Defense hospitals.

 

Prior to joining CHC, Nick was Materials Manager for Methodist McKinney Hospital, McKinney, Texas, where he negotiated contract pricing and managed hospital departments, including OR, Inpatient Services and Radiology. He has also been Materials Manager with operational budget oversight for Vibra Specialty Hospital of Dallas and DeSoto.

 

Nick was a Third Class Petty Officer with the United States Navy where he served for six years. His service included roles as Surgical Services Supply Chain Manager at Naval Hospital Guam and Manager of Vascular Surgical Services at NNMC in Bethesda, Maryland.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from The University of North Texas and earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Corporate Director of Supply Chain

Robert Michel

Corporate Director of Supply Chain

Robert Michel serves as Corporate Director of Supply Chain where he develops and implements comprehensive supply chain management strategies to bring the greatest value from CHC’s supply expenditures and resource utilization. Robert has more than 30 years of materials management leadership experience at healthcare facilities and with a healthcare performance improvement company.

 

Prior to joining CHC, Robert was the Regional Director of Materials Management for MedAssets, where he was responsible for managing Materials Management Directors at 14 Tenet-owned facilities along with 42 MedAssets staff and more than 100 Tenet staff members. In this role, he established leading practices in stock purchasing, inventory control, receiving and storage, distribution, material processing and returns, as well as developed a collaborative culture across numerous hospital departments. Before that role, Robert served as the Director of Materials Management at John Peter Smith Health Network in Ft. Worth, Texas, Mountainview Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Saint Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences in Missoula, Montana.

 

He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Master of Healthcare Administration from Webster University, located in St. Louis, Missouri. He also holds a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) certification from the American Hospital Association Certification Center.

Director Supply Chain Analysis

Shonta Hunt

Director Supply Chain Analysis

Shontá Hunt serves as Director of Supply Chain Analysis for CHC. In this role, she works closely with the Vice President of Supply Chain to support CHC Supply Trust clients with due diligence analysis and onboarding new members. Her background includes procurement, contract management and supply management, both in healthcare and across other industries.

 

Prior to joining CHC, Shontá served as Value Analysis and Financial Analyst at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she managed the procurement of clinical and non-clinical products and services and led product portfolio contract negotiations for the health system. Her healthcare background also includes four years as a Corporate Contract Management Analyst for Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis.

 

In Memphis, Shontá also worked as a Buyer for Jabil Circuit, and in customer service roles for Integra Logistics, LLC, and Hub Group, Inc. 

 

Shontá earned her Master of Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication from Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky.

 

Manager Supply Chain

Bill Murphy

Manager Supply Chain

Bill Murphy serves as Manager of Supply Chain for CHC. In this role, he is responsible for supply chain management initiatives and conducts data analysis for CHC owned and managed hospitals. In addition, Bill prepares cost analysis, conducts price audits, and monitors and reports contract compliance. Bill brings more than 20 years of healthcare supply chain experience to the CHC team, including work with acute care facilities, long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs) and group purchasing organizations (GPOs).

 

Before joining CHC, Bill spent four years as Director of Procurement Solutions for Provista Inc. (now Vizient). Prior to this, he was Manager of Procurement and Item Master Services for Broadlane Inc. (now MedAssets). He began his career in healthcare at American Medical International (now Tenet Healthcare) as a Systems Analyst and Senior Installation Specialist. In addition to this experience, Bill has worked as a technology consultant and in management positions with The Rowland Group and Computer Sciences Corporation, respectively.

 

Bill holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas.

Manager Supply Chain

Jim Wall

Manager Supply Chain

Jim Wall serves as Manager of Supply Chain for CHC. In this role, he works closely with the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain on supply chain management initiatives and conducts data analysis for CHC owned and managed hospitals. In addition, Jim prepares cost analysis, conducts price audits and monitors and reports contract compliance.

 

Jim brings to the CHC team over 30 years of experience in hospital materials management as Director and Consultant. He has focused on the reengineering of materials management processes in order to increase the benefits of automation and has a deep working understanding of hospital operations. He has been able to document expense reductions through streamlined use of automation and improved data analysis for healthcare organizations of all sizes.

 

Some of Jim’s prior assignments have included reengineering of materials management in preparation of and assistance in the implementation of the Lawson Procurement System in large Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN). His background includes work with Perigon LLC, Siemens Health Services, I-Many Inc., VHA Performance Consulting and Concepts in HealthCare, Inc.

 

Jim is an active member of the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management and is an AHRMM Certified Materials Resource Professional. He completed course work in business/computer science at Eckart College and Prairie State College.

Manager Supply Chain

Rosemary Zapata

Manager Supply Chain

As Manager of Supply Chain for CHC, Rosemary Zapata is responsible for onboarding and support services. In this role, she supports and coaches new hospital clients through the process of converting to CHC Supply Trust, the supply chain services arm of CHC and CHC Consulting. She brings over 22 years of healthcare operations and management experience to CHC.

 

Before joining CHC, Rosemary spent three years as Director of Materials Management for Forest Park Medical Center and, most recently, for Methodist Southlake Hospital. Prior to this, she served nine years as Director of Supply Chain Operations for Triad Hospitals Inc. and the Baylor Healthcare System, respectively. Rosemary began her career in healthcare at Carlsbad Medical Center, where she advanced from an Assistant Buyer in Distribution and Receiving to Director of Materials Management.

 

Rosemary is pursuing her Bachelor of Business Management degree at Amberton University.
