Brian Cunningham Named CEO, Wahiawa General Hospital, Wahiawa, Hawaii

Plano, Texas (August 30, 2017). Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) is pleased to announce that Brian Cunningham has been named Chief Executive Office of Wahiawa General Hospital (WGH), Wahiawa, Hawaii, effective August 16, 2017. A skilled healthcare professional, Cunningham possesses more than three decades of hands-on clinical, operational, financial and strategic leadership experience and has demonstrated numerous healthcare service excellence accomplishments.

CHC Consulting, the management and consulting arm of Community Hospital Corporation, entered into an agreement to manage Wahiawa General Hospital in October, 2016.

Cunningham has relocated to Hawaii from Gila Regional Medical Center, Silver City, New Mexico, where he served as CEO for four years. At Gila, he led the implementation of a successful series of patient, staff and physician-focused quality improvement initiatives for the 68-bed, county-owned acute care hospital and physician practice network.

Earlier, Cunningham had direct responsibility for nine skilled-nursing/long-term care facilities as Director of Rehabilitation at Integrated Health Services in New Mexico, where he had previously served as a Staff Occupational Therapist.

Cunningham holds a Master of Business Administration from American Intercontinental University, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
