Community Hospital Consulting Announces New North Texas Medical Center CEO Tom Sledge
Plano, Texas – June 27, 2018 – Community Hospital Consulting and the Gainesville Hospital District Board of Directors have announced Tom Sledge as the new Chief Executive Officer for North Texas Medical Center (NTMC), Gainesville, Texas, effective July 9, 2018. Board members unanimously agreed to hire Sledge during a recent special-called meeting. CHC Consulting, the management and consulting arm of Community Hospital Corporation, began a five-year management contract with NTMC on May 1, 2018.
CHC President and CEO Jim Kendrick shared, “We are excited to have Tom on board to lead NTMC and continue the hospital’s mission to serve residents of Cooke County with quality healthcare for years to come.”
Sledge spent the past 13 years working for Community Hospital Systems (CHS) in multiple roles providing leadership to facilities including Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Ark., Weatherford Regional Medical Center, Weatherford, Texas, Women & Children’s Hospital, Lake Charles, La., and Longview Regional Medical Center, Longview, Texas. Sledge earned a Masters of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J. and a Bachelor of Arts, Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas.
NTMC is a 60-bed acute care hospital situated on 52 acres located within the city limits of Gainesville, a community approximately 60 miles north of Dallas-Fort Worth and five miles south of the Texas-Oklahoma border. Since NTMC’s campus was rebuilt in 2004, it has continued to grow to better serve the medical needs of the North Texas area.
