Community Hospital Corporation’s Cindy Matthews Named to Top 15 Business Women in Dallas

Plano, Texas (November 2, 2016) – Cindy Matthews, Executive Vice President for Community Hospital Corporation (CHC), has been selected among the National Diversity Council’s Top 15 Business Women in Dallas. Matthews was recognized by the National Diversity Council at their Women’s Conference held today at the Hyatt Regency North Dallas.

Developed by the National Diversity Council, based in Houston, Texas, this prestigious award recognizes outstanding leaders who have reached the top of their profession; are respected, successful and drive strategic direction for their organization; and who drive change, innovate and inspire others to succeed.

Matthews has been guiding the strategic direction for CHC since 2008, along with providing advisory services to CHC affiliated hospitals, CHC Consulting clients, and hospital boards. Her expertise in growth strategies, market assessments, marketing and communications planning, medical staff development and planning, and service line development helps CHC keep community hospitals sustainable. Before joining CHC, Matthews was a principal at healthcare consulting firm Meritage Healthcare Strategies. She also served as Vice President of Marketing at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas for several years.

When asked ‘what has been important to your success,’ Matthews shared: “I have been fortunate to work with some amazing leaders who have taken me under their wings and encouraged me. And I have tried to return the favor by mentoring and encouraging others.”

Matthews was nominated by CHC colleagues. As part of the nomination process, Phyllis Cowling, President and CEO of United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls, Texas, shared: “I’ve known Cindy for 25 years and have had the pleasure of working with her extensively over the past 10 years. She is highly regarded within our industry as an ethical leader, strong strategist, superb communicator, and active mentor.
