Great Plains Health
Great Plains Health, North Platte, Neb., is a nonprofit, 116-bed regional referral center serving west Nebraska, northern Kansas and northern Colorado. Formerly known as Great Plains Medical Center, we opened our doors in 1975 upon the merging of two smaller medical facilities: Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.
At Great Plains Health, our mission is to inspire health and healing by putting patients first—always. With nearly 100 physicians representing 30 medical specialties, we offer advanced medical services, including heart and vascular, cancer, orthopedic services, women’s services, and a level III trauma center. The range of patient populations served includes neonatal, pediatric, adult, obstetric and geriatric.
We serve the region through 13 Great Plains Physician Network and hospital-based clinics, with providers who perform outreach in 26 critical access hospitals in Nebraska and Kansas. Two hundred fifty academic institutions partner with Great Plains Health to provide rural internships for medical, nursing and allied health students in numerous specialties.
We are driven by a dedicated commitment to our journey from good to great in continual pursuit of excellence in the areas of people, quality, service, growth and finance. To the people of Great Plains Health, excellence is not a destination, but an ongoing journey to get better at what we do every day and in every way.
