Southwest Health System Names Anthony Sudduth Permanent CEO

Plano, Texas – March 28, 2019 – The Southwest Health System Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Anthony Sudduth, CPA, FACHE, FHFMA has been named Chief Executive Officer for Southwest Health System, Cortez, Colo., effective today, March 28, 2019. Sudduth joined Southwest Health System in mid-April 2018, fulfilling the role of Interim CEO.

“During the past year, Tony has led the significant financial turnaround of our organization, and in doing so, has improved every financial metric of our organization. This success could not have been possible without the hard work of the entire Southwest Health System staff,” said Tom Rice, Southwest Health System Board Chair. “We are excited for Tony’s passion to lead Southwest Health System and continue our mission to serve area residents with quality healthcare for years to come.”

Southwest Health System, Cortez, Colo., includes Southwest Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital, and 10 primary care and specialty clinics. Southwest Health System has served the Four Corners (Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico) area for more than a century.

Since joining Southwest Health System, Sudduth has further enhanced board, physician and staff relationships, while also developing closer community ties. Sudduth has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare including CEO, COO, and CFO roles for both not-for-profit and for-profit facilities. Through his leadership, organizations have been able to reduce costs, improve revenue and achieve growth targets. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master in Business Administration, Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Ky. and a Bachelor of Science, Accounting, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Ky.
